As I was first diagnosed with PTSD in 2017, it actually was a very late diagnosis because I had been living with it untreated for many years and without knowing. I wrote things that didn't feel important, everything felt so scattered, but I kept it all. There were times I looked back on it and over time, even the smallest of things became significant. My advice would be to write anything, feel it all or feel nothing, all of it is relevant and valid.

I have written the most while recovering from PTSD and was unable to do things I had once loved like traveling, working full time (love my work), and I had to find other things I loved just as much that were achievable. For me, that had always been writing. My first publication "She Planted Her Own Flowers" contains three years' worth of writing, as a result of many therapy sessions and emotional healing.

A collection of rewritten poems that are more detailed and intricate. I'd love for it to be a longer book of poetry, creative writing taken from my own journal entries and some prose writing. It can be quite a journey from writing, drafting, proofing and then to publication.

To escape the power of dogmatic patterns of thought we might often feel defined by, I have chosen to write a second publication of poetry that takes a more in depth look at my own experience as a Corrections Officer as well as different periods of my life that taught me not to become lost in the opinions and mindsets of others who are not leading my life with or a long side me.

I listen to music, read books on psychology, and watch movies & netflix series until something inspires me.
