David Booth I have just come out with my debut collection of poem 'Too Bright to See.' I am working on a follow-up. The poems I write are mostly in prose. This is true for the new thing I'm working on, too.
David Booth I don't have a lot of experience with writer's block because I don't expect to be imaginative all the time. I have kept journals (I still call them diaries) for nearly 30 years now, and I never get blocked simply writing down what happened this morning. When I have a hard time writing creatively, keeping a journal tides me over until a time when I feel more inspired.
David Booth I've never had that sense of wanting to travel to a fictional book world (though I think it's a cool idea.) I'm forever interested in writing about people's experiences in our current century. I seem always to imagine California, where I live, when I write—and to zoom in on interpersonal relationships between people at every stage of life. I feel that I am an optimistic writer about here and now.
