Dave Warner I think I'd like to hang out at one of Agatha Christie's English manor houses playing croquet and drinking port.
Dave Warner My band was playing a gig at the North Cottesloe Surf Club. A girl was found murdered in bushland and was thought to have gone missing immediately after attending our show that night. Police came to question me as to whether I could recall her and who she may have been with. Unfortunately I could not remember her from the crowd. Later it was established that she had gone home to her apartment first. Officially the case remains unsolved.
Dave Warner Sometimes it is from reading other books. I'm not sure of the process but ideas sometimes jump up and tap me on the shoulder: What if X happened? I think, wouldn't that be a great story! Other times as I say, I read something and go, wow, I'd love to do a book in that style.

Dave Warner I went to see my friend and music collaborator Martin Cilia playing with The Atlantics, a famous surf music band of the 60s. My brain just started kicking in with ideas for a TV series or film. In the end I decided to write a book.
