Hi Barbara. I'm so sorry. The book I started six years ago simply refused to work for me. I tried three different times to work through the writer's block. I finally had to give up on it, and then I had a completely new idea with Zane's story. That's the one that's releasing on May 1. I hope you'll give it a shot, but I'll understand why if you don't.

Hi, Barbara. Yes, I do plan to write more Dream Weavers novels. I had hoped to get back to that series earlier this year, but you know what they say about the best laid plans... I'm now tentatively planning to get back to Book 3 in 2017. Yes, I've started!

The idea for my Dream Weavers series came from an old episode of Charmed where the sisters were helping a Sandman. I'd been wanting to do a paranormal story, but I'm not inspired by vampires or werewolves. But sleep and dreaming... now there was something interesting! I started doing research and found the Greek legend of the Oneiroi, daemons of sleep, and I couldn't believe my luck. The story ideas started to flow. I'm really excited about this series and hope readers are, too.

I'm currently working on reviving my Dream Wreaker series. I'm editing the books that were previously published so they can go back out, and then I'll be working on new material. It's really interesting and fun to jump back into something I worked on years ago.

Music, watching movies or television, seeing pictures, or catching a snapshot of human life. Anything to get into that right-brain space. Yet what tends to be the most "inspiring" is always a looming deadline.

I do anything but write. Seriously. Others say you need to put your butt in the chair and fight through it. That doesn't work for me. I get more frustrated and the block will get bigger. Instead, I'll let my subconscious mind work on it. I'll do dishes, watch a movie, or listen to music. Another trick is thinking about the scene from another character's point of view. When the answer comes, it's just like the proverbial light bulb popping on over my head. I get all excited, the energy returns, and I'll write like the dickens.

Learn your craft and do your homework. Do everything you can to become the best writer you can possibly be, BUT listen to your gut. People in this industry love to throw out advice. Some of it is great, but a lot of it is pure hooey. Just because a big-time author tells you to do something or an agent demands you make changes doesn't mean they're right. This can be one of the hardest things to learn. Don't be inflexible or a smarty pants, but develop a backbone. This is your story, your business, and your dream. Trust in yourself to make things happen.
