One of my readers, after reading CHRISTMAS ROSE, suggested I write another Christmas novella so that the books could be sold as a gift set. Her request set in motion my recollections of a certain street in my hometown. The story of CHRISTMAS WONDERS evolved from that setting and those memories.

Find a critique group with individuals who are capable and willing to give you honest critiques. Use those critiques to improve your writing. When you have a finished product, take every opportunity to present your work in person to editors and agents at conferences.

I love the creative process of getting an idea, writing it, and revising it until it is the best I can offer. And then, of course, sharing what I have written and getting positive feedback from my readers makes the process a very satisfying journey.

When I am having difficulty writing I try to pull myself away and do something I enjoy that has no connection to writing. The break helps me focus and once again find joy in my work.
