To answer your follow-up question: bonding over books is more sacred than anything else (except cats), therefore if no one has used this site as a dating app, that's a huge missed opportunity. Goodreads, I command you to rebrand as a dating site. Love, Amy

I force myself to write something, no matter how bad or cringey it is, even if I just delete it when I'm done. By forcing yourself to write something, anything, you get back in the habit of writing and I find it suddenly comes a lot easier to you.

It's being able to express myself as eloquently as I am (though not through speech) through writing. It's being able to adjust what I want to say before anyone sees; being given a second chance when deciding what I want people to know and read. To me, the best thing about being a writer is the freedom to express myself genuinely and authentically without the awkward stuttering of haphazard conversations.
