I don't allow myself to sit in it. Instead, I put that project away and start on something new: a new story, a new genre. I read a lot. I take myself on an artist date. I watch TV, movies, go to the beach. I fill my free time with things that refill my creative well and push my creativity outside the rut and into the bumpy terrain of the unknown.

I'm working on two projects. One is a new adult college romance I'm writing under my other pen name CL Walters called The Messy Truth About Love. The other is the second book in the Fareview Fairytales which is slated to publish in January 2023.

I'd read a series of popular adult fantasy romances as a mental escape from having finished writing and publishing a new adult contemporary In the Echo of this Ghost Town. I wanted to flex my creative muscles, thinking it was just an exercise for fun. I opened my book of Grimm's Fairytales, points and landed on The Golden Key. Using that as a starting point, I just started writing. One week later, In the Shadow of a Wish had a rough draft. It was a whirlwind!
