I have had the desire to write my entire life. I have kept personal journals for as long as I remember. I also wrote a lot of letter to family and friends who lived in different states as I was growing up. I'd always hoped one of my English teachers would single me out to say I was an brilliant writer, but that never happened.

I came up with the idea for Discipleship 5K from my own life experience. When I started to make it a priority to live a healthier lifestyle, it included physical exercise as well as spending more time studying the scriptures. I found myself reflecting on the scripture and praying while I was doing my physical activities. I eventually began an outline and Discipleship 5K grew from there.
