Barbara Elsborg LOL Thank you, Kevin. I'm not that good!!! I just write what I like to read in the style of what I like to read. I'm a third into writing my new one. BUT real life issues are slowing my output. I'd hope to have it out in maybe October - but it's a guess! I have finished my Christmas book though so that is something.
Barbara Elsborg LOL Thank you, Amanda. I too think it would make a good film. I suspect I'll be waiting a long time for that phone call!
Barbara Elsborg Thank you, Sonia. Yep, that was my last MF book. I'm not sure if I'll ever write another MF or an MMF. I think I've fallen into the rabbit hole of MM now and would find it hard to get readers for an MF or an MMF. I know that sounds crazy when you're asking me for more but you're in the minority! That's not to say it will never happen. If I had an idea that appealed, I'd consider writing another MF or MMF but there is nothing in the pipeline at the moment. (Well I do have an MF on my laptop that hasn't been published, but it requires a lot of work!)
Barbara Elsborg I'm not sure, Vicky. The answer isn't no! LOL
Barbara Elsborg No book for Jeremy. I'm notoriously bad at following through on smaller characters in my books. He was a cutie though so never say never I guess. Wilson - LOL - yep, I still love him!
Barbara Elsborg My laptop died! It can't be mended. (definite horror story)
Barbara Elsborg In my books? Impossible to say. I love them all.
In someone else's book? So tricky - when I'm reading a book I like, I love that couple the best. But then I read another good book and that couple takes their place.
BUT - I do love Grace and Vaughn in Unsticky by Sarra Manning.
Barbara Elsborg I tweaked it very slightly to bring it up to date, but it is basically the same book with a different cover. I had the rights returned to me so I was able to self-publish it.
Barbara Elsborg I've written one. It's called Kiss Interrupted and I'm waiting to hear when the release date will be. Hopefully this year!
Barbara Elsborg Not sure I'll write anymore in that series. I'm still thinking!
Barbara Elsborg Thank you, Deanndra. Ah - well I had thought about writing a story about Sev but decided not to. Same with Jasim. I COULD but I think I'd rather go with something new!
Barbara Elsborg Yep, I did. Check out 'Girl Most Likely To'!!
Barbara Elsborg Thanks, Lashuri. I've just published another suspense book called Crossing the Line, but it's a bit different to Chosen. I do have one that is very similar but I wrote it quite a few years ago and I need to type it out onto my laptop. I only do that when I'm not busy and I always seem to be busy. It's called La Heroica and is about a woman who goes to work in Bogota and gets trawled into the world of a drugs cartel. Not sure how long it will take me to get it out there.
Barbara Elsborg That should be an easy question but it's not! The next book to be released by one of my publishers is 'Falling' - an MM with Samhain - which is due to come out on the 24th March next year. BUT - I have two other books that I plan to self publish. One is a suspense novel, the other am MMF erotic romance - I hope to have both out before the end of this year but it depends on me finding a cover artist for one, plus someone to line edit etc.
Barbara Elsborg Hi Jeri,
My writing process is haphazard! I don't plan or plot. I do choose a title and let that drive the story. I spend a lot of time choosing names. They have to be right. All books of mine have those things in common. I write in the same place in my house but I can write anywhere. I don't need my desk - just my laptop. I usually start the day answering emails, checking FB and then I open the doc and write! With black coffee. At least four mugs in the winter. Less in the summer. I break for lunch and write until around 4.30pm but I'm at my most creative in the morning. Does that answer your question?
Barbara Elsborg hi Sula, I'm not likely to write sequels. I think once I've given my characters a happy ending, I don't want to cause them anymore heartache. If there was no heartache - there would be no conflict in the story and so not much of interest. What I would consider - is writing a book about different characters and having old characters make an appearance.
Barbara Elsborg It's a follow up to the previous book. I introduced a character called Conrad that deserved his own story - so I made one up!
Barbara Elsborg In the first place - being unhappy. Writing was an escape. Nowadays, I'm inspired by everything - a story in the paper, a photo, a song... the list is endless.
Barbara Elsborg An MM story about a hitman and a barrister.
Barbara Elsborg Never give up but don't forget family and friends need you too!
