Yes! I have been on two sailings to Alaska, one on Celebrity Cruises and the other with Holland America. I absolutely loved both of them!

I've been thinking about this for a little while. That's a tough one! Mostly I think of supernatural occurrences--like tracking down whatever's behind where my new story ideas come from or figuring out the magic that is behind keeping everything straight as an author. LOL. I also think my cat is very mysterious, so following her in whatever she does when we're not watching could be interesting.

Hi Jes! Loann is a little piece of me. I don't have a sister, so not in that sense, although I have always wanted one. But Loann takes some of her insecurity and humor, and reliance on good friends from me. As far as the plot goes, a number of years ago, I was living with a girl who suffered from a severe eating disorder. I desperately wanted to do or say something to help, but it seemed anything I said or did only sent her into a tailspin. This book was originally written as a cathartic piece for myself, to try and understand not only her but myself. I decided to turn it into a published book when a friend suggested it might speak to others.

The best thing, for me, about being a writer is spending time being creative with words and characters, and learning more about myself and the world through my writing.

Hi Raven! Nice to meet another BC reader :-). At this point, I don't have plans for a sequel to Never Enough, but I never say never! Have you read the group of companion stories I wrote to go with the book? You can find it for free here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...
Thanks for getting in touch. I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Never Enough, and I wish you all the best!

I just finished a (hopefully) final revision of another YA contemporary novel. As of today, I'm between projects, trying to figure out what to work on, and it's leaving me feeling antsy!

With my new YA novel, FOREIGN EXCHANGE, I was inspired by a combination of the movie Life As We Know It and a desire to bring some of my performance and traveling background to life. While the end product came out nothing at all like the movie, I loved the idea of a responsible girl having to work with a sexy, untrustworthy playboy to solve a problem.

Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad Never Enough impacted you, and Marcus and Loann remain close to my heart as well. As far as sequels go, I never say never, but at this point I don't have a plan to continue their story. What I can tell you, though, is that in earlier versions of the novel, I had taken Loann off to college (photography school) and she was really learning to embrace her talent. And when she returned at Christmas break, she stopped first at the cafe to see Marcus before even returning to see her parents. :-)

Don't compare yourself to others. Be the best, most honest, writer you can be.

I look around and make sure no one else in the vicinity needs me. That's all I need for inspiration!

I don't believe in writer's block. I think writer's block is based in fear that we won't be able to write as well as we would like to. So to combat this mythical problem, I give myself permission to write really badly when I need to. (Surprisingly, even when I do this, I end up with some writing that I'm actually really happy with!)
