Most military history in contemporary India has been written in silos with retired generals, admirals and air marshals writing some very good books about single service narratives. Very few, however, have attempted to fuse-in a joint narrative that peels like an orange - from the strategic to the operational, tactical and finally down to the human element of war and conflict. My book attempts to fill that vacant space.
