W. Bruce Cameron Hi! There's A Dog's Way Home and A Dog's Courage, that's another series in that order. The "story" books we call the "puppy tales" and there's no real order, they are all stand alone. My Dogs with a Purpose series slants toward older readers, but that series and the Puppy Tales are aimed at younger readers. and yes, some of the Puppy Tales concern adventures of dogs you've already read about. The exceptions are: Shelby, Lily, Piper, and Toby. (The set up for Toby comes from A Dog's Journey, but it's all different otherwise.) Dogs with a Purpose: Stella, Ripley, and Zeus--those are all originals, too. My Three Dogs is one you should get if you like my books on dogs.

W. Bruce Cameron I am so, so sorry to hear about Honey. I lost a dog to cancer once, myself. It was so tragic for me and I can imagine how hard it was for you. I don't know if I have a good idea for the book you're suggesting, but I so appreciate your help!
W. Bruce Cameron I just have the one at the moment, but I've had multiple dogs my whole life!
W. Bruce Cameron I would LOVE that. We did write the script. But sometimes Hollywood just digests work and moves on....
W. Bruce Cameron Hi Charley. My favorite book is like asking me to pick my favorite child, but I guess I'd go with Emory's Gift.
W. Bruce Cameron Wow! Every one? In August I publish # 40. I am so happy you love my books, though not all are from dog POV and not all are about dogs. But thank you so much.

I agree about the movies, even though I helped write them. Too many cooks in the kitchen...
W. Bruce Cameron Hi Alan: I consider my Dogs with a Purpose series to be middle grade, so yes. I haven't got a shih tzu novel outlined yet, but I have several more coming!
W. Bruce Cameron I would LOVE to turn Courage into a movie! What drama and adventure! I'm just waiting for showbiz to get unstuck. Right now, no one is making anything, it seems. But your instincts are correct, it probably would make the best movie yet!
W. Bruce Cameron What a wonderful question! Well, nearly all of Hollywood is at a complete standstill at the moment, and nobody can explain why. Yes, Promise has been written. So have a number of screenplays based on my books! We have one that is supposedly going to be "greenlit" any day now... something we've been told since November of 2023. I really, really want to get back into making movies, but right now, there's too much sand in the gears.
W. Bruce Cameron Oh boy. So, here's the thing: my editor at the time insisted that we establish a firm timeline. I kept saying, "it's a dog. Dog's don't consult the calendar. They don't care what day, week, month or year it is." My editor said no, make a timeline. So I stuck in little clues about the passage of time. But I didn't make this my main focus. So if, in the end, there are errors, or if it is hard to track, blame my editor! LOL. I'm just focused on what a dog would think.
W. Bruce Cameron Hi Victoria! Well, as it happens, Zeus is a water rescue dog who is also trained in Search and Rescue. I'm so happy you loved Ellie's Story! You might also like Lacey's Story, I think. Thank you for reading my books!
W. Bruce Cameron Thanks! I'm excited too. Ripley is rather loosely based on my own experiences working for the fire department in a suburb of Kansas City, many years ago. We didn't have a dog. I do agree we needed one and I love Dalmatians! While I was working on Ripley, I was researching herding dogs for my next novel, My Three Dogs. I fell in love with the idea of how crazy it would make a herding dog to see a bunch of fire fighters racing around to get on the truck! I am sure a Dalmatian would make a fine fire department dog, though.
W. Bruce Cameron I have! I have outlined a dog inheriting a fortune, but I'm stuck trying to figure out if the book is for adults or for children. I could see it going either way. The puppy matchmaker is a theme I've used before. Basically, it's at the core of A Dog's Purpose, don't you think?
