Never give up. Use rejection letters to line the trash can and don't stop writing. I re-wrote my first novel, SAVING MAX, twenty-one times before it was ready for human consumption. Persevere!

I have a ritual I have to go through. Go into my studio with large Great Dane, who immediately lies down on her rug and goes to sleep. Light candle (a sign I'm serious about working) and sit down in front of the computer. Read what I wrote yesterday and get going!
