Jason Arnopp Hi there Rogue! Thanks for asking this question - and for reading Sparks! I don't use any specifically-branded structure, but then again they're all based on much the same 'beginning, middle and end' principles. :) So while planning a story, I'm very much aware of the classic three-act structure, and pay special attention to the midpoint. As you may remember, Sparks is literally in two parts, and so is Ghoster, actually. So I end up with a four-act structure, with what amounts to a two-part second act, if that makes sense! Hope you have a good time with Ghoster, if you do check that one out. I consciously used more of a mystery thriller format for that one...
Jason Arnopp Hi there Michael! I'm very sorry indeed for taking so long to answer your question! Especially as the answer is really simple, because I haven't read Money. :) Sounds like it might be up my street, though! Thanks so much for asking the question anyway.

Jason Arnopp Nitzan! I'm so sorry for having managed to miss this question for two whole yearrrrs. Outrageous. I will do better with Goodreads, starting right now. So in answer to your question, I would really like to do a print collection like this, but I really need to write more short stories in order to do this. As things stand, I've been very focused on my second novel, Ghoster, which as you know is now due in October. But I must write more shorts!

In answer to your other questions:
Tony - I know this may be frustrating, but I like to leave this up to the reader's imagination. Also, I may want to pick up that thread in a future book. :)
Old Lady In LA - To be honest, there's no meaning to these words. She's just a deranged old lady. A bit of LA colour. And a woman just like her once said the exact same thing to my girlfriend and I on a Hollywood street! So that's where that came from...

Jason Arnopp Hi there Nitzan! Thanks so much for your very kind words - I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. And yes, what a cover!

The next novel is currently in the works, so it would be premature of me to say exactly when it'll be published just yet. It will also be a supernatural thriller, but in a different way to Sparks - and I'm afraid it's too early to say much more. But like a lot of my work, it will aim to make you feel afraid in your own home. Always a pleasure!

During the wait for Book Two, you might perhaps like to check out some of my previous short-form books, such as Beast In The Basement (novella), A Sincere Warning About The Entity In Your Home (novelette) or Auto Rewind (novelette) - all of which are on Amazon now! :)

I've no immediate plans for a sequel to Sparks, but who knows, there may well be more life in Jack in some other medium... *suspenseful music*

Thanks for these queries, sir!
