Just finished reading Saving Sophie and it is so good, will there be any more books added to the Liam Taggart and Catherine Lockhart series? Also, about what year is Saving Sophie set in? To add, is there a chance that Once We Were Brothers is in production or not?

Ronald H. Balson Maybe in the future, but not writing one at this time.. Eli's Promise and The Trust have Catherine and Liam. No movie yet.

Hi there Mr Balson! Thank you so much for writing all of your amazing books. I am an avid reader of historical fiction (especially surrounding the events of the world wars) and yours have been by far the most captivating; leaving me speechless and in tears. Do you plan on writing anymore books after Eli's Promise?

I think Karolina in "Karolina's twins" is the alter person of Lena so that Lena could disassociate herself from the act of throwing the infants off of the train. It was Lena who was the friend of the German soldier through David - is this correct?

I started with The Trust, not realizing there were others with Liam and Catherine. I am really hooked! The books are filled with humor, humanity, suspense, and realism. I listen to most of my books and Fred Berman does a FANTASTIC job with narration. I hope you are planni many more in this series? It is a very good author, that can make books in series, also stand alone, and you accomplish that remarkably well, Kudos!

Ronald H. Balson Thanks. I do not choose the narrators and cannot take credit. Macmillan does a fine job of that.

This is not a question, but I cannot put down Karolina's Twins! What an amazing read. I have to be honest...I don't normally read books by male authors. You, sir, are an amazing writer! Do you have similar historical fiction novels out there that I have been missing out on?

First let me say I thoroughly enjoyed this compelling story, great portrayal of such a strong character. However, as you acknowledge your research and the many people who help you, I thought I'd point out there were no antibiotics being used in Germany during the war. The Germans only used Sulpha drugs and had virtually no access to Penicillin. Is Lena's mentioning it just a mistake? Just an FYI.

Ronald H. Balson Thank you for reading my book so carefully. I certainly am not an expert in antibiotics and I believe you are correct that access to Penicillin was not available. This is what I have discovered about antibiotics developed in Germany: "The first sulfonamide and the first systemically active antibacterial drug, Prontosil, was developed by a research team led by Gerhard Domagk in 1932 or 1933 at the Bayer Laboratories of the IG Farben conglomerate in Germany, for which Domagk received the 1939 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Sulfanilamide, the active drug of Prontosil, was not patentable as it had already been in use in the dye industry for some years. The discovery and development of this sulfonamide drug opened the era of antibacterial."

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Ronald H. Balson So heavily into research for my next book (currently titled The Prodigy) that I haven't selected any reading-for-pleasure books, but I'm sure I'll get a few before summer's over

Ronald H. Balson My life is not very mysterious. Maybe why it took me so long to start writing fiction.

Ronald H. Balson Once We Were Brothers is in the development stage. No word on the others. Yet. Look for The Trust this September.

I am reading the series out of order. I read .Karolina's Twins two weeks ago. I loved it. I am currently reading Once We were Brothers. I am truly enjoying the story. I am only 100 pages into the book.I have two questions.......I am a scaredy cat and do not like thrillers. Is book number 2 for me or should I skip that? My second question is have you thought of doing a prequel to tell Catherine's Story more in depty?

Ronald H. Balson Hi Allison: Saving Sophie is a good read even for scaredy cats. It's more historical fiction than thriller. A prequel is a good idea. I'll have to consider that. Thanks.
