Despite it being unoriginal, I have to say Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy. There's a reason why this romance has been adapted for so many years and in so many ways. Jane Austen was brilliant in the portrayal of their unfolding love.

Write a series. Fans become attracted to the characters and want to learn more about them. If you have the interest in writing more than one book, work on a series.

Honestly, inspiration isn't the problem. Time is. I have two more series sitting in my mind that I haven't found the time to put on paper. This most recent book launch, Guardian, was written in the middle of a screenplay and three other novels.

The fans. Knowing they love the characters and root for them like I do makes me appreciate the ability to write.

For the bigger issues, I walk. Usually, I'll take my dog, Charlie, because being an American Eskimo he needs lots of walks! There's something about getting outdoors, in the fresh air, with your blood pumping, that brings back the creativity, solves a plot line, or expands a story arc. Second, for the smaller challenges, I fold laundry. The mindless, repetitive nature of it keeps me in the story while I solve the problem. So, I make sure I do all the laundry folding!

A fan. She mentioned it would be interesting to know Maggie and Eran's backstory, how their love transpired before they reached New Orleans. Since there had been a lot of questions over the years about their history, I put it on paper, and in the evolution of it explained the backstory to a lot of other characters. Campion's history, the history of the Beedinwigg's, the loss of the guardians and messengers, all of it is actually answered in this book.
