Hi Ally, I wanted to create a character that was similar to Ramona Quinby, but make her more up-to-date! I didn't know Mya was going to be a cowgirl until she appeared in my thoughts! Wow! I was so surprised. I love Mya, too, and I hope you find time to read book three MYA IN THE MIDDLE which will release to bookstores around the middle of October, 2018! Thanks so much, Ally, and keep reading!

THE MAGNIFICENT MYA TIBBS series is definitely for younger middle graders, ages 8 - 11. HOW LAMAR'S BAD PRANK WON A BUBBA-SIZED TROPHY, and THE LAURA LINE are for upper middle graders, ages 10 - 13. Thanks so much for asking!

Visiting schools, and changing how students perceive writing! It's amazing to help that happen.

I don't believe in writer's block. I believe a writer has taken a story in the wrong direction, and that it why it has come to a complete halt. Figure out where you went left, when you should have gone right, and many times that will open up the channels to continue writing.
