Kim Fielding Hi Bev, I understand your concern. I prefer not to discuss complicated business decisions publicly, but if you'd like to PM me I'll be happy to address your question.

I can tell you that this year I'll have at least two more self-published novellas released (Bureau #10 and a vampire tale called Farkas), as well as a self-pubbed audiobook and the French translation of The Muffin Man.
Kim Fielding Good morning! I'm so glad you asked! I love writing in this series. As a matter of fact, Book 9, Caught, is currently in edits. It should release in May. This one is long novella length and set in the 1970s. It features a new couple, although Ralph Crespo and Townsend appear as well.
Kim Fielding Nobody seems to know what happened to one of my great grandfathers who was, according to family lore, a member of Archduke Franz Ferdinand's guard. His wife and children emigrated to the USA after WWI, but he didn't. Was he there that day in Sarajevo? Did he die in the war? It's a mystery!

Kim Fielding Thank you! I love that story too, yet somehow I've never revisited those guys. Maybe someday!
Kim Fielding :-D I'm writing as fast as I can!
Kim Fielding I'm so delighted that you're this excited about the series! I love writing these books! I don't have preorder link yet for Conned because it's not yet completed. The story will be available sometime in the spring and I promise I'll get the word out when it's up for preorder.
Kim Fielding Wow, it looks as if there's an error on the Amazon listing. Thanks so much for pointing this out. I've contacted the publisher and asked them to fix this, because it is definitely available in paperback in English. In the meantime, you can also order the paperback direct from the publisher if you wish. I'll update here when Amazon is fixed. Thanks again! And I'm so glad you love the story. https://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/boo...
Kim Fielding Tanya settled in for the 11-hour flight, eager to begin her reading binge. But her Kindle wouldn't start.
Kim Fielding Thank you so much, Dianne!

Yes, those are the last books in each series. The guys do make cameo appearances now and then in other books, though. And my last newsletter contained a short-short story with Dylan and Chris.
Kim Fielding That's a good question. He's not from another book--although I'd love to write more about him someday. He's there mainly for Jimmy to play off of. Their interactions are supposed to give us early insight into Jimmy's character. I am quite fond of him, though.

Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you enjoyed the book!
Kim Fielding Yes, more in the series! I had a bunch of other obligations, but I'll be working on book #3 this spring. This will be Parker's story. I have at least one more planned after that.

I don't know about audio plans. Please contact Dreamspinner and tell them how much you'd love audiobooks of the series. :-)
Kim Fielding I'm so glad you asked! I'll have a third novella in the series out this spring, plus I'll be releasing all three as an audiobook, narrated by Joel Leslie.

I don't have any other series quite similar to this one. But my standalone PNR novella "Night Shift" has a little bit of a similar feel. "Ante Up" has a vampire but is much lighter in tone. The Bones series has a wolf shifter, but less of a noir feel. And this summer Dreamspinner will release "Blyd and Pearce," which is a noir/private eye story in a medieval fantasy setting.
Kim Fielding Hahahaha! You know, that never occurred to me but it's an *awesome* idea!! I may need to do that.

Kim Fielding LOL! Yes, that's my plan exactly! Do away with all my readers! ;-)
Kim Fielding I'm so glad you're enjoying the series! I do plan to write 2 more books in the series, but have a couple of other projects to address first. We will definitely see some cameos appearances too. I miss Karl. :-)
Kim Fielding Hi Lulu! The first book, Good Bones, is already out on audio. It's narrated by Nick Russo. John Solo will be narrating the second book, Buried Bones. I was recently told he'll be beginning recording in a few weeks, so I hope we'll be getting that one fairly soon.
Kim Fielding Be impatient! :-)
I haven't written the next one yet, so we won't see it until next year. It'll feature Rhoda's son, Parker. But of course Nevin, Colin, Jeremy, and Qay will make appearances. And Ptolemy and a few other familiar faces.
As for audios, I don't know yet. You can always bug Dreampinner about it--that might help!
Thanks so much!
Kim Fielding That's a good question! I'm not sure I can keep track myself--sometimes characters from one book make unexpected cameos in another.

Astounding! definitely includes some of the Bones guys. The two Love Can't books include a bunch of scenes at P-Town, which is also in Bone Dry and Speechless. Travis and Drew have a cameo in Love Is Heartless. The guys from The Tin Box make a brief appearance in Astounding! One of my novellas, Transformation (in the Claws anthology) is sort of a pre-prequel for the Bones books (it takes place in the 19th century).

Let's see. What else? Buddy from Motel. Pool. has a sort of cameo in Rattlesnake.

I think that's it--for now! I try to write things so that people who haven't read the other books won't be confused, but those who have read them will maybe enjoy a quick visit with an old friend.
