The one overriding "ritual" I've developed is to fall into the "Space" where my writing comes from...

Doesn't sound very specific, I know, but it's a very clear and distinct part of myself...

I know it was developed by my willingness, for many years, to "talk" to people (characters, you might say, but not often those for a story...) in my mind---talk while letting my mind create environments, even adventures with these various folk...

So, even if I don't create any specific "place" in my mind before I write, I've nurtured the "meta-space" where all those inner escapades happened---where I write "From"...

All my writing is driven by my attempt to help folks find solutions for the stress our world is suffering from...
Alexander M. Zoltai I'm deep into research for the third portion of a forthcoming book.

The first section is already published---the novel "Notes from An Alien".

The second section---Behind the Scenes of the Novel---is on my blog and will soon be edited for the new book.

The third section will be a set of poems---one for each chapter in the novel.

I should be publishing the omnibus edition next year...
Alexander M. Zoltai First, read books by many different writers.

Second, write something before you go looking for writing advice.

Third, don't believe everything other authors say about how to write.

Fourth, find some trustworthy people to beta read your stuff.

Though, for those who do, I might suggest what my author friend Jane Watson suggests:

Get as deeply into what you're writing as you can---get as deeply into why your writing, too. If you're not completely committed *inside*, the words may not want to come out...
