Kai Strand Aspiring writers need to immerse themselves in books written for their target audience. Good books and bad books. It is just as important to determine what you don't like as it is to figure out what you like. That's how you develop your own writing voice.
Kai Strand Hi Chris,

Thanks for your question. Yes, there is ONE more book in the series. I don't have a publication date yet. Hopefully by summer of 2015.
Kai Strand I really wanted to tell a story about a homeless teen. It is important to me that people, especially young people, know that there are underage homeless people. There are a million different reasons kids end up on the streets and most of them aren't nice reasons, but those kids deserve a chance to change their circumstances. That is why I wrote my Worth the Effort series. Ella's Story is about a girl who meets and falls for a homeless boy. Ayden's Story is about why he's homeless.
Kai Strand The best thing about being a writer is talking to readers about books. Whether we discuss my books or other books we've read in common, I just love those passionate discussions.
Kai Strand The fastest way for me to cure writer's block is to read a book on the craft of writing. It sparks my competitive nature and I always end up abandoning the read so I can go create.
