For all my faults, I never knew there was such a darkness, and evil, lurking at my very doorstep.
In a confused moment I let her in, and the whole world changed around me, down to the very tiny scrapes of the ajar door of my neighbors two miles away.

I’d love to visit the land of the fae. I’d like to have known the characters in Shirley Jackson’s family in We have always lived in the Castle. I’d like to hang with Mercy Thompson in her Volkswagen garage. Hell, I’d love to be her. I think I’m a distant relative of Plum in Janet Evanovich’s series. I’d like to hang with her too.

I read a book and often it inspires me to get back to my writing. If it's character development I read an author that's novels are character driven. The same with dialogue, action, humor, romance. Reading pushes me to develop my own stories, and that drives my need to write again.
