Hi. I was very sad to discover that my library's Hoopla account has deleted ALL of your books. It doesn't even register all of your books that I have read. This is their response when I questioned it: "Our goal is to provide a diverse range of content, and sometimes, due to licensing agreements, we can only release individual titles rather than the entire series." Is this because of the change with your publisher?

C.J. Archer Nothing like that. I reached out to my contacts and it's a glitch that they're working to resolve.

I did complain to Audible/Amazon about why they don't have your book as an audbk and they said it was because you haven't given them permission to publish it. The reviews are great for your other books on Audible, so I think others would really like to see it on there too. I only use Audible/Am. for audiobooks because I'm needing to save $, my parents bought me credits for Audible. I'm hoping to still get it on there?

C.J. Archer Hi Rebecca.

Audible's response is incorrect. I don't "publish" directly to them. My distributor sent the files to them weeks ago at the same time they were sent to all other stores. Those stores released the audiobook on release day, but Audible hasn't. It must be stuck in their system. It usually does take a while to get through their system (they have a vigorous QA process) but this is worse than usual. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do. I'm sure it will be there soon, however, so just be patient.

I have listened to almost all of your books. I especially enjoy Marian Hussey's narrations. I have tried to listen to the Freak House series but have struggled with the reader's renditions, especially the male voices. Will you be able to continue to use Marian Hussey as your reader? It makes a world of difference. I appreciate that your female characters are strong and independent women, Thank you!

C.J. Archer Hi Jan. I'm glad you've been enjoying my stories. The first Freak House series audiobooks were produced by a publisher, not me. I'll be getting my rights back this year and am having them re-recorded now. Look for the new versions in March-June.

Hi C.J., I have loved discovering your books! I'm really excited for the release of the 4th Glass Library book, however I noticed there will be no audiobook version? I hope this changes because I have really enjoyed listening to the books. Also, Amazon is saying that this is a 5 book series, so there will be only one more after this newest one? I really hope to see Gabe and Sylvia finally get together!!

C.J. Archer There is an audiobook version. It's available to pre-order now from many stores. I'm guessing you've only looked at Audible/Amazon. They won't allow indie authors to do pre-orders which is why you won't see it there. If you want this practice to change, write to them and complain. Regarding, the number of books in the series, Amazon can only show you what they have available for sale or pre-order in their stores. If a publisher hasn't made a pre-order available yet because its release date is so far away, Amazon don't know this. Basically, don't rely on Amazon to tell you how many books will be in a new/ongoing series because they don't know. There will be 6 in the Glass Library series. Just wanted to say that I really love your books! English is not my first language but I enjoy very much! I am reading the Glass and Steele series now. What would you recommend to read next?

C.J. Archer Hi Asaka. I'm glad you're enjoying my books. After the Glass and Steele series, I recommend you read The Glass Library, as it's a spin-off. Otherwise, check out my website and read the descriptions of the other series to see which one grabs your attention.

Popsugar has a challenge in 2024 to read "the 24th book of an author". The lists I find of your books are grouped by series and not just chronologically. What was your 24th book? Thank you.

C.J. Archer If you go to any of the stores where my books are listed, search my name then sort by publication date, you'll get your answer. Since I didn't know the answer either, I used this method and discovered that the 24th book is Her Majesty's Necromancer.

Late in 2022 I stumbled upon the first book in Glass Library Series. Almost a year later I am caught up on the Glass and Steele Series, After the Rift Series, The Cleopatra Fox Series, and I have The Untitle Books in my queue along with book 7 and onwards of the last necromancer series. I'm glad to see in the questions you're not quite done with some of these stories. Any new series you have brewing in your mind?

I have some ideas, but nothing I can share yet as they might not come to fruition. The 2 current series will keep me going for a while longer.

I've read all 10 of the ministry of curiosities, and thoroughly enjoyed them, are you going to continue the series? And in your opinion which of your series is your favourite?

C.J. Archer No plans at the moment, but you never know...
I don't really have a favourite series (it's like a parent choosing a favourite child). Although I do enjoy writing the Cleopatra Fox series at the moment.

I've read some of the Freak House and some of The Glass Steele series but by far my favorite is The Ministry of Curiosities. Any plans to add to this Series? I've gone back and read the series at least 3 times.

Hello C.J., I am wondering are u planning to bring back the characters of the Freak House Series?

C.J. Archer Not at this stage. The story felt like it ended where it should after the 9th book. There is a link between the Freak House series and the Ministry of Curiosities series which is set up in the free short story STRANGE HORIZONS - available exclusively to newsletter subscribers (subscribe via my website). The story features Hannah and Jack.
