What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Tony Talbot I'm hoping to finish "Martin Chuzzlewit" inside of a year, then I have "Mrs Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children" to read. For a re-read, I think I might go for "The Firm"

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?
Tony Talbot I'm a big Star Wars fan, so I'm going with Princess Leia and Han Solo on this one!

Your books cover quite a diverse range of subjects and genres. How do you choose the ideas you develop and which has been your favourite so far?
Tony Talbot I dart around trying new things and just go for the one that interests me at that moment, and whatever Muse decides might be fun to write. Whatever jumps out at me!

My favourite has to be EIGHT MILE ISLAND - that was a lot of fun...making Dylan so superior and arrogant and then breaking him. :-)

Tony Talbot Usually an idea has to grab me hard enough so that it doesn't let me go!

Tony Talbot "The stars are going out." :-)

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Tony Talbot Start with something small, like short stories and work your way up. Never insult your audience. And read as well, read to see what works and what doesn't.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Tony Talbot Being able to reach into a stranger, so they laugh or cry at what I've written or get a chill. Having someone say I moved them somehow.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Tony Talbot The only way I've found to deal with it is to walk away from writing entirely and go and do something else. Takes time, but it does work.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Tony Talbot For Medusa...I subscribe to a monthly popular science magazine, and one issue had speculative illustrations of whole cities built at sea. Then I had an image of a girl sailing towards one...
