Dean Murray Hi, Zahra.

I'm glad that you enjoyed A Darkness Mirrored so much! I definitely plan on picking Lucy's story back up. In fact, I originally tried to write her story into Driven, but it ended up not gelling with what was going on with Geoffrey and Jasmin.

There is a ton that will end up happening with Geoffrey, Lucy, and the rest--I just need to get clear of The Compelled Chronicles and A Broken World and then I'll be picking the Reflections Universe back up.
Dean Murray Hi, Zahra. I'm glad that the Reflections Universe has managed to suck you in so completely!

I'm definitely planning on releasing additional books in both the Reflections and Dark Reflections stories--I'm just trying to wrap up some other stories first so that I can give Alec, Adri and the rest my full attention.

Left (Jess' and Wyatt's story) will go live towards the end of February, and then hopefully I'll be able to start releasing a Reflections/Dark Reflections book every month or two towards the end of 2016.

Dean Murray Hi, Julie.

I was hoping to get Jess and Wyatt's book out by the end of Dec/early Jan, but currently it's looking more like it will go live in Jan or Feb. I'm nearly done with the heaviest editing pass though so if possible I'll hurry it up where I can. :)

All the best,

Dean
Dean Murray Hi, Winnifer. Here is a link to a graphical representation of how the books all fit together.

If you're going to read both Reflections and Dark Reflections (which is an alternate timeline exploring what would have happened if Adri's dad and sister hadn't died and if Kaleb hadn't been killed while Alec and Rachel were still very young), then I would recommend reading Broken through Lost, then switching over and reading Bound through Shattered. After that read Marked and then Burned.

There is a lot of good information/entertainment in both series, so I highly recommend reading them together!

I hope that helps--please let me know if any of that doesn't make sense.

Dean
Dean Murray Hi, Kyndra.

As much as I would like to read your stories, I just can't. Apart from all of the worries about someone claiming that I plagiarized them (I've heard second-hand accounts of that happening to authors), the real issue is that I don't feel qualified to do something like that.

I would hate to send you down the wrong path with your writing to do something else to negatively affect your dream. I made that mistake once in the past and have regretted my efforts to 'help' ever since them.

I wish you all the luck though. There are a lot of different avenues where you can get the kind of feedback you're looking for, just be very careful about who you accept feedback from as once someone is in your head commenting on your writing as you go it becomes very difficult to silence that voice.

-Dean
Dean Murray Hi, Mike.

Chronologically, I wrote Broken, Torn and a bunch of the Reflections books first, and then went back and wrote Bound. The Dark Reflections books are an alternate timeline exploring a 'what if' version of how the characters' lives could have gone if one major piece of their world was changed, which then spawned a host of subsequent changes that propagated forward in time.

I have a much better description of the differences (and reasons I wrote the Dark Reflections series) in the new mailing list emails that I've been rolling out. (You could sign up so that you can see the new emails here: http://deanwrites.com/get-your-copy-o...)

If I haven't answered your full question please let me know and I'll take another stab at it!

Dean Murray Hi, Kyndra.

I'm glad that you're enjoying Broken so much, and that it is sparking your own creativity!

I don't know that I'm the best one to offer up advice about writing, but there are a few things I can suggest that may be helpful.

1. Try to write every day--even just a little. I find that getting writing again after I stop is really difficult, but when I have the habit of writing 6 days a week, things go much more smoothly and books sometimes seem to come together almost of their own accord.

2. Focus on the story and the characters. I think that is what makes for a more compelling book than something with lots of pretty phrases and stunning dialogue that never seems to go anywhere.

3. Be ready to practice a lot. Writing is just like anything else, it takes practice to get better at it.

I hope that helps--I wish you all the best in your writing endeavors!

Dean Murray Hi, John! It sounds like you're enjoying the Guadel Chronicles books, which is always good to hear.

For almost two decades I've had an epic fantasy series in the back of my mind that I've been writing, but I knew starting out that I wasn't a good enough writer to do the idea justice, so I started out by writing a smaller series set in the same world about a group of people who would eventually get pulled into the main narrative.

I'm considering writing a prequel to the Guadel Chronicles--a book about the Exodus--but even if that doesn't happen, I plan on writing that original epic fantasy series, and Jain, Va'del and the rest will show up in that series--although maybe not quite in the way people are expecting.

I hope that answers your question satisfactorily--please feel free to ask away if I haven't quite got to the bit you were looking for.
