When I'm writing a novel and I get stuck I'll usually move on to a different scene that I have a better feel for and I will work my way back to the point in which I found myself stuck. I always end up filling in the gap and more often than not I am able to draw inspiration from the scene I skipped ahead to.

Inspiration for me arises from random places. It's almost always a different spark. For "Volition" I remember specifically standing in my bathroom back in Germany, wondering what it would be like to have someone know you so intimately that they are literally ALWAYS there, watching your every move...even in the bathroom. What kind of love must a person feel to know a person so intimately, to know their every imperfection...and what if, in return, you didn't know that person at all. It was just a random thought but the spark caught fire.
