Why did you choose to set your book in South Africa?

Nicky Drayden Hi Devon,

I visited South Africa way back when I was in college, and it was a really transformative experience for me. When it came time to write a book, I thought it would be fun to set a story in the city that we visited. It's sort of a futuristic, fictional travelogue of my time there.
