I started thinking about what a young kid would enjoy reading and recalled how intrigued I was as a young kid by a simple book that started off with “ A House” then it progressed to “ A Red House” and so on.
So the first idea was Colors; objects in 10 colors.
I did not want to just pick some random objects, and decided to introduce Circles or Round shape as a common theme throughout the whole book.
As the book is for young kids, I thought it should be kept simple and vibrant so that they can focus.
Noticing that kids love interaction and like to repeat words, I thought introducing repetition and rhymes should keep them engaged.
