My grandfather was a rumrunner and the family history of it us sketchy at best. So I wrote a historical crime novel on it. THE RUMRUNNER'S BOY was a Crime Writers of Canada Finalist.

I'd go to James Michener's 'Tales of the South Pacific' or Hemmingway's Cuba in 'Islands in the Stream' I would snorkel and fish the reefs in the Pacific . I would hit the old Havana bars
