Amanda McIntyre Deadlines are good. I believe it was Michael Crichton who once said that some of his best writing came after his wife called him to supper.

Readers inspire me. My street team is a wealth of opinions, suggestions and I give them much credit for inspiring me.

Getting inspired sometimes isn't nearly as difficult as "staying" inspired. I have a pin near my desk from a dear author friend, Judi McCoy that says.."Finish the damn book!" I look at that a lot;)
Amanda McIntyre A number of projects, actually. I've just re-released a contemporary romance set on Mackinac Island called TIDES OF AUTUMN, that I've made a few changes to and I'm very pleased to be able to offer it to another generation of readers. I also have a short romantic suspense coming out--Stranger in Paradise is set in one of my fav places along the shores of lake Superior.

And I'm working also on the third book in the Kinnison Legacy series--this one features bad-boy Dalton Kinnison and the shy schoolgirl he barely noticed turned successful business woman and mother, who returns home after many years, still harboring a secret that could change all their lives.
Amanda McIntyre I used to hate the response "believe in yourself" when first starting out in this business, but it's so true. Writing is not for the faint of heart. If you're in it to make buckets of money--stop now. There are those doing well (some very well!) but the sea of authors on every level of published is vast.
You have to believe in your self, your stories. Hold on to your integrity, your kindness (it matters) your professionalism and work ethic. While none of those things guarantees success as a writer, it does help you be able to sleep at night.
Amanda McIntyre Using that creative gift inside you. Everyone has it, though many deny it. It may not be writing--maybe its some other creative gift. But tapping into that, sharing it with others and finding happiness from that, is its own reward.
Amanda McIntyre In a variety of ways. Sometimes a walk or taking a break, simply not thinking about the story is enough to put things in perspective. I've discovered that I am a bit like a sponge (emotionally) and while its great fodder for storytelling, you now and again, have to step back and (thank you Taylor Swift) "shake it off" in order to get your focus back. I am more curious if this is an issue more with women writers , than with male writers...hum...
