My current series is 'The Painted Maiden Trilogy'. The first book 'The Rising' is available for purchase. The second book 'The Betrayed' will be available by the end of September 2014, and the third book (tentatively named 'The Taking') will by available by the end of December 2014.
I am currently debating what my next project will be. It is a toss-up between steampunk, horror, and a story about making moonshine in the 1920's - all with their own 'eco' spin, of course!

Read - a lot. Then just write. Don't get stuck on one story or one idea. Skip around and get bold with it! Join a writers group (online or local) and get critiques for your writing. It is the only way to get better!

My most recent series, "The Painted Maidens Trilogy", is all about mermaids. Originally, I wanted to do a series on dragons. I spent a lot of time thinking about dragons before I even wrote one word down. What kind of story would it be? How would I describe them? Details about their scales came to mind, which led to what other creatures have scales. Mermaids, of course! The more I thought about mermaids, the more they made sense - especially as the 'eco' part of being an eco-fantasy author. Our oceans are often overlooked but so important to our planet. What better way to highlight this wonderful part of Earth? Thus, the mermaid eco-fantasy series was born!

I do something mundane - like take a walk, take a shower, or dishes. Activities that allow my mind to wander usually helps to come up with the next best scene to my book!
