Richard Adrian Reese You can try Googling the book title and PDF. You probably won't find it. There is no Kindle edition. Maybe your library has it, or can get it via inter-library loan, or can acquire the book.
Richard Adrian Reese Hi James! Yes, I added a brief comment to your list of serious global problems ("40% of the land in the world is in agriculture, etc."). At the bottom of your post is a Comment button, which displays my comment.
All the best!
Richard Adrian Reese In recent years, I’ve written reviews of more than 150 books related to ecological sustainability, to introduce pilgrims to a wide variety of significant outside the box thinkers. I post the rough drafts on my blog (www.wildancestors.blogspot.com), and then publish polished collections of the reviews I like best. They are Sustainable or Bust (2013), and Understanding Sustainability (2016).
Richard Adrian Reese I want to help those who seek to learn. Widespread ignorance is causing so much unnecessary harm. Mainstream academia is still placing primary emphasis on perpetual growth and technology worship. Genuine ecological sustainability is getting far less attention. For those who religiously celebrate the wonders of progress and human supremacy it’s a dreadfully embarrassing subject.
Richard Adrian Reese My upcoming fourth book traces the human journey from our beginning in the trees of tropical rainforests, to our current floundering existence as stressed out high-impact consumers racing down a dead end road. How did this happen? In the process of 20 years of research, and the writing of my first three books, the next step became obvious. It was time to sum everything up, and produce a powerful story.
Richard Adrian Reese I find great satisfaction in doing work that’s important and meaningful, work that helps me learn and grow, work that illuminates minds and changes lives. It makes the world a better place.
Richard Adrian Reese Write a million words, skill develops over years. Top quality results from dozens of revision sweeps, and mercilessly deleting every word of crap. Don’t rush. I’ve read hundreds of books, and I generally type 10 to 20 pages of notes while I read each one, noting the page numbers as I go. Today, I have thousands of pages of notes, some that are 20 years old. Using a search utility, I can extract notes on specific subjects, often stuff I had forgotten. My computer has a far better memory than I do. Detailed notes are a treasure.
Richard Adrian Reese I write when I’m inspired, not when I’m empty. Mornings are when I have the most creative energy. Occasionally, the power isn’t there. That’s OK. I have no boss or deadline. I never whip myself to write a mandatory quota of words every day. Good ideas often arrive when I’m doing something mindless.
