I usually get inspired by talking to others or spending time by myself and thinking about different things. My mind is most relaxed and thought-provoked when I have just taken a nap. A nap helps relax my mind and helps me to think clearly.

I am currently working on a book about people with disabilities. I have been in the human services field for over 10 years now. I have a lot of experience with this population; older adults, youth, intellectually disabilities, mental impairments, physical disabilities, etc.

In being a writer, you have to be patient and steadfast. Like John Heywood's A Dialogue Conteinyng the Nomber in Effect of all the Prouerbes in the Englishe Tongue states "Rome was not built in a day," and neither were your skills. Being a writer takes time, dedication, and a love for the field. Writers ultimately know that they may or may not make a living off of writing. Writers also know that millions may read their writings or just their family or friends. You have to prepare for who you want to read your work and how it is presented.

The best thing about being a writer is my mind. Three people can see one event and obtain three different views from those events. A writer will can see a portion of the event and then allow his or her brain to fill in the blanks and create a masterpiece. The masterpiece can be fiction or non-fiction, it just depends on what the author is interested in creating.

I usually deal with writer's block by taking a break from writing. I love writing dearly and if I could do it all the time, I would. The honest truth is that I cannot write all the time or good material for that matter. In order for me to continue to write with such passion, I have to allow my brain to tell me when its time to take a break from writing, reading, and a doing things that goes hand-in-hand with my passion; writing.
