Misty Provencher Just finished The Release Club series (a serial series) and I'm working on my next series, The Dimension Thieves, a time traveling serial for the UtopYA collection. All three of the Release Clubs will be out by January 4, 2015 and The Dimension Thieves comes out January 31, 2015.
Misty Provencher I have a routine that helps me predictably shift into gear. If this doesn't bore you, nothing in the world could, but you are welcome to proceed!

I get up in the morning (about 6 a.m.) and check emails and social media. After getting back to everyone, I write for an hour or two. Then, I'm ready to get down to business. I take a shower and listen to my playlist for the book to get in the groove. I jot down what I need to write in the upcoming scenes (to kind of flesh them out a little more than my outline did) and I get down with my bad self. I can groove on until about three in the afternoon (if the kids are at school) or until one of my kids needs me (which, during the summer is about every 1.3 seconds).

We do the dinner thing, maybe walk the dogs, cut the lawn, and collapse in the back yard with a cup of joe that is so strong you could chew it like a rawhide strap. Mmm Mmm Mmm.

Then, while everyone else settles into their routines- drawing, tinkering, honey-do-ing or whatever...I get back into writing. I do edits and catch up on any new emails/social media stuff and might make notes or actually put down some words. Evening hours are just whip cream on the day.

Are you still alive? Did you fall asleep and swallow your tongue while reading that? Not that I blame you, but there you have it- my glamorous life. :)
Misty Provencher Hi Karen! Thank you so much for reading!

Grammar is a tricky thing- even the best of us make our mistakes. However, I think you must have an old copy of Cornerstone, because it has been re-edited and when I searched for the issues you presented, I could not find them.

If you could send me an email with the locations (i.e. the lines) where you found these errors, I would be glad to check the current edition, to be sure they were corrected. I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the story!
Misty Provencher Writer's block...whaaaa? Writing is my job, so I guess I don't have time to get blocked. I'm like a NY message carrier...if the streets are jammed, I'll detour on the sidewalks and if those are jammed, I'll ride over the tops of the taxis.
But, if you mean stuck in a story point? That happens for brief periods sometimes. I do one of two things now. Either I try to write through it, around it, or beside it (by adding scenes, asking the character what the problem is, or just grinding through until the ice breaks) OR I chillax. Hahahaha. I take a shower, walk the pooches, scrub a floor. Something manual for my body to do while my brain ruminates. It usually gives up the goods the second I threaten myself with the mop and a set of rubber gloves anyway. Hope that helps!
