Beth Duke Hi, Linda-
I’m so happy you loved it! Thank you for reading, and even more for reaching out. That means so much to me.
I would love for this story to be made into a movie. I think it’s well-suited. Hoping my agent can get that done someday!
If you’d like to check it out, there is a sequel called “Dark Enough to See the Stars” that will catch you up on Ronni and tell Sam’s story, as well.
Best,
Beth
Beth Duke Without a doubt, hearing from readers who've enjoyed my work. That thrill is never diminished one bit!
Beth Duke My third book features Ronni, who's inherited a large sum of money contingent on penning the life story of her benefactor, a delightful and beautiful woman named Violet. The narrative bounces back and forth between their lives, so my brain is bouncing back and forth from the 1940's to 2012 right now!
Beth Duke "Don't Shoot Your Mule" was inspired by an incident in my family's past; a great-uncle lost his temper with a recalcitrant mule, stalked to his house, grabbed a pistol and shot his most valuable farm implement. In my book it refers to a similar story passed from generation to generation that has prompted women to admonish their husbands, "Don't shoot your mule!" in all instances where rash action might be costly.
