Hi Laila! It was a great experience working with Misty. She’s incredibly kind and was so generous with telling her life story. Thank you for reading, and I’m so glad you enjoyed the book!

Hi Jacki: I'm so glad you liked Ida! I absolutely loved writing her, and while I don't have plans for a sequel or companion novel at the moment, I never say never, especially when it comes to a favorite character. And your potential title is A+! Thanks so much for reading and reaching out! :)

Hi! I have no plans to write a sequel as of now, but I agree that it would be so interesting to revisit these characters and their stories. Thank you so much for reading and for the kind words!

Hi! No, to my knowledge, no one has ever written the music that he played, but I also agree that it would be so cool to hear that original music. Maybe if it ever gets an audiobook. :) Thanks so much for your question!

Hi, Kaitlyn! Thanks so much for reading Little & Lion. Yes, it is my second book, the one I wrote after Pointe (and my third novel will be out next August!).
I wish I could answer your questions, but I honestly don't know what's happened with Suzette and Iris because I haven't written anything after the ending! I don't have plans to write a sequel at this time, but I like to think things got a bit happier for everyone after the story ended.

Hi Rose!
When I was first writing Pointe I might have felt a little strange about tackling the subject matter. But once the story began taking shape, I was more concerned about the characters and remaining true to their narratives. I also strongly believe that very few topics (if any) are truly taboo, and so I'm probably more drawn to writing about situations that can potentially cause discomfort. I don't ever intend to write books that teach a lesson. But I do like to start or add to conversations about topics that make society uncomfortable, and to question why we believe it's more acceptable to openly discuss and examine some issues rather than others.
Thanks for your question!

Hi Andrea:
Thank you so much for reading POINTE! I'm so glad you enjoyed the writing and that it felt unique. :)
I've actually known I wanted to be a writer since I was a kid. I started writing when I was seven years old and I knew I wanted to be an author even back then. Books have always been special to me, but I also loved making up my own stories and putting them down on paper. I'm a pretty perceptive person with a wild imagination, so writing always felt like the best way to deal with all the "what if" scenarios I proposed to myself.
I was inspired to write POINTE after seeing a TV movie called "I Know My First Name Is Steven" when I was a child, which was based on the true story of Steven Stayner, who was kidnapped and held captive for seven years. I'd always wanted to write a kidnapping story of my own and had always wanted to write about a ballet dancer, and the two eventually came together into the book you read!
I am working on another novel, though I'm keeping details under wraps for now. But I can tell you it's another YA novel, I'm very excited about it, and I'll be sure to give any news about it as soon as I can. :)
