My inspiration came from reading the Martin Beck mystery series by the Swedish wife and husband team of Maj Sjowall and Per Wahloo. The ten novels in that series tell the stories of a team of police detectives investigating crimes in several Swedish cities in the 1960s and 1970s. I liked the interaction of the team members, with different personalities and skills. I invented my own team of diverse detectives.

I'm currently writing the third novel in my VCI mystery series. The first novel, The Silenced Women, will be published February 2, 2021. The second novel in the series, The Day He Left, is a missing persons case and will be published in February 2022. Each novel follows the five VCI detectives as they investigate crimes in the northern California city of Santa Rosa.
