And Thank you for asking.
Linda Seger I have a neurological disorder called dystonia. I was struggling with it and began to write about the spiritual issues surrounding it, and then realized it was a book so began adding to it.
Linda Seger Ideas come to the surface and I pursue them. I make notes. Or just cogitate and ponder - sometimes for years. Very occasionally I get an assignment from a publisher, and if the subject interests me, I say "yes" (well, so far, I've always said "yes").
Linda Seger I am re-reading the final edit of Writing Subtext. The 2nd edition will be out in February. I am marketing my new books - Reflections with God While Waiting to be Healed, and The Alphabet Prayer, and I'm ready to do a new edition of From Script to Screen, and am in the very beginning stages of a book on a theology of creativity.
Linda Seger Write. Write some more. Have a writing discipline.
Linda Seger The words and ideas. I love to explore. And I love to tweak and change and play with words and try to have fun. I love writing - and have since I decided to be a writer when I was 10.
Linda Seger I really don't have writer's block, but I think it's because I understand the creative process. If the writing doesn't flow, I take a day or two off, do more research, brainstorm with a friend, use my husband as a sounding block, write stupid things figuring that the good things will flow after the stupid things come out, write even if I haven't found my way and work it out in rewriting, and don't fret about it but make sure that it doesn't lead to procrastination.
