Jim Lowe I revisited the dark, angry and intensely private poetry of my youth after I had given up film-making, or, more accurately - YouTubing!

At the time, about 2014, the news was full of stories of radicalised teenagers joining ISIS.

The two strands became entwined, and I wondered if my younger self could have strayed down that path if I'd fallen in with the wrong crowd. This was the spark that fired my latest creative obsession.
Jim Lowe I love seeking out inspiration from others - that feeling of joyous creation, whether that be in music, books or TV.

I want a piece of that - and the only way I can grab my own piece of this heaven is to create something, anything, myself.
Jim Lowe I've written four books in a new Science Fiction series under the banner of the Green Deal quartet. Before releasing any of them, I need to complete the four audiobooks accompanying them. The first book, 2084 - New World Man, will be widely released on April 4 2022. This will be followed by Book Two, June 26, Book Three September 26, and the final instalment will be released December 27 2022. They will be available in eBook, paperback, hardback and audiobook wherever possible. I am also writing three short prequel chapters to the series as a potential giveaway via jimlowewriting.com.
Jim Lowe My advice for aspiring writers is just to keep writing and enjoy it while there are no rules. You can start at any point in a book, not just the beginning. Don't worry about grammar or prose, just get your story written.

Then, when you have the words down, that's the point to shape it into something that looks like a finished book.

The editing can become a form of meditation if you approach it positively.
Jim Lowe The best thing about being a writer is the ability to make the plot and the characters interesting to myself.

Personally, I could never write to fit a formula or genre - fair play to those that can. I like to surprise myself with the story's development because I spend so long living with it in my head.
