Hi Angel, I am still working on that book. There have been some set backs but I am still working on it. I don’t have an end date, but i’m getting back on track, and as son as I have a date, I’ll make an announcement.

Some of the characters are named after people I know, and some of the names just come to me. Kind of like when I can see their face, they tell me their name. Sometimes I look up the meaning of names and find them that way. Depends on the story and what's happening :)

That's a tricky one, I need the right story for the Platypire... but I'm hoping to come up with one soon.

The Lia Fail Series was inspired by Afghanistan and Iraq and the ideologies of zealots. One thing led to another and I began to wonder what might happen, or what it might be like.

From the news, or I watch the History channel or Smithsonian channel. I'm also inspired by other books and writers and stories. Maybe I'll hear or see something and that will cause my imagination to take off. It could be anything really.

I'm working on the 2nd novel (3rd book) in the Lia Fail Series. I say 3rd book because between each novel I write several short stories that are integral to the storyline, but are contained in an omnibus. They are an essential part of the series and people may get lost if they avoid them. I did this to avoid an exorbitant amount of back story to explain the time that had passed. Instead, I have the stories do that.

Keep at it and don't be afraid of editors and critiques (which is not criticism). Also, develop a thick skin. There are people out there that will criticize you for no reason other than they choose to, and you can't please everyone, nor should you try. Listen to the words of Pelonius - To thine own self be true - as long as you do that, you'll be fine.

Hmmm, I guess the best thing about being a writer is writing what you want to read and then being able to share it with others, some of whom will feel teh same way about it. That's a great feeling, to know that you've touched someone.

I try to forge ahead, but when I become too frustrated, I have to walk away. Then I try reading, or listening to music. Eventually the voices come back and I can move forward again. Sometimes it's real life that is inerfereing and I have to take care of that before I can get back to it. We all have a different process though, so we all have to find out what works for us.
