Apologies for the exceptionally late reply, I didn’t even realise that Goodreads had questions on here for me. I’m glad you’re enjoying the books. Since you read book 1, book 2 is out now, and book 3 will be out in September. I don’t know if there will be more after that, but I hope so as writing Miles and Church has been a lot of fun.

Hello Steve, Is there anywhere to get a brief summary or synopsis of prior books in the different series (I read several of your series)? I am reading The Assembly books as you release them, and I thoroughly enjoy them. Sometimes I forget what happened in prior books though by the time the new one releases.

Is there a definitive reading list to chronologically go through the story lines? It looks like it's Hellequin Chronicles, Avalon Chronicles, Rebellion Chronicles but I wanted to verify.

Do you know how good of TV series/movie series this would make? Note - I'm sure you do but if I don't put it in the form of a question, this medium rejects it. If you do sell it to a studio, be sure to maintain creative control. Otherwise, some small brain director will try to tell his own story and all that will be left from your ideas is character names at best. See Discworld failed TV series or Dresden Files.

Is Nate Story done , are there no new novels Hellequin Chronicles ?

Steve McHugh Nate's story isn't done, but there are no new Hellequin novels. Once Scorched Shadows finishes, the story continues on in the Avalon Chronicles, and then Nate is back for the Rebellion Chronicles. The first book of which is due out this Nov.

Steve McHugh Thanks very much. I finished the first book and sent it to my publisher a month ago, so after edits, it should be out by the middle of next year. Hopefully, once the last Avalon Chronicles book is out, I'll have a better idea.

Hi Steve, I've never written to an author before, but I had to tell you that I really liked A Glimmer of Hope. I was exhausted after all the action of Scorched Shadows and wasn't going to hit the Avalon Chronicles tangent. Boy am I glad I did! One thing I loved was that characters from Hellequin kept popping-up and when a Certain Person showed up at the end I was like, Hell Yeah! Thinking of any other tangent stories?

Steve McHugh Hi John, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do have some ideas for stories about other characters, but I probably won't get around to them until the Avalon and then Rebellion Chronicles are done.

Hey Steve! Can you fix the order of your books on Amazon on The Hellequin Chronicles please! They are completely out of order... I click on what says its book 1 it tell me its book 5... I click on book 3 its book 1.. so on and so on... its extremely confusing... Can you list which books go in which order for my sanity in the Hellequin Chronicles please? It would make reading them in order so much easier! Thanks,

That's a bit weird. The correct order is:

(Infamous Reign the novella)
With Silent Screams
Prison of Hope

A Glimmer of Hope (book 1 of the Avalon Chronicles)
Scorched Shadows

Steve....when is Nate back? As much as I really like the Avalon Chronicles, and I think Layla is a really interesting character, you can't really compare to Nate's bad-ass-ness (I know that's not technically a word, but it fits). Is this just a trilogy for while he's recuperating and then a new series back to the War in full flow?

Steve McHugh Hi Matt, Nate will be back in the series after the Avalon Chronicles, which is called Rebellion Chronicles. The Avalon Chronicles is a trilogy, yes.

Can you clarify what you are doing with the Hellequin Chronicles? The first line of the blurb for Scorched Shadows marks it as the final book in the Hellequin Chronicles, yet you have said here you have 15 - 24 books planned. Which is it?

Steve McHugh SS is the last Hellequin Chronicles book, which then goes to the Avalon Chronicles, and after that the next Nate series. So about the same number of books, but it wasn’t possible to do it all in 1 series.

Hey Steve, I know the Avalon Chronicles are rolling along, but I just finished re-reading the first 5 books from the Hellequin Chronicles and finally getting to the last two. Definitely one of my favorite series, and I have to ask: When will we see stories from Nate again?

Hi Steve, just want to let you know the Hellequin Chronicles are some of my favourite stories, ever! As a proud Scotsman, I was wondering if you think Nate will take a wander up north and interact with the mystical community in Caledonia at any point?

Steve McHugh Thanks very much, that's very kind of you. It's possible. I had some ideas for characters from there, but I haven't been able to work them in yet. Hopefully at some point, Nate will visit the place.

Steve McHugh It's not a guaranteed kill (as it proves), and making a powerful sorcerer really angry by shooting them is probably not that smart for your life expectancy. Also, it's sort of just not done. It's one of those things that would be frowned upon. Guns aren't well liked by the majority of people who were born centuries before they became as widespread as they are today.

Just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed reading the Hellequin series so far. I admire your stamina if you have notes for another two dozen. I hope you don't run out of enthusiasm for this character before you get to the end of those notes. What do you think?

Steve McHugh Thanks very much. Well, Hellequin is ending with 7, but it's not the end of Nate's story, so I'm sure I'll get pretty close to the original number of books.

Just finished this book. Thought it was one of the most exciting so far although all of them have been full of action. Do you plan on having any"sprout" books of the other characters like Mordred? Got plans for the next Hellequin going yet? THANKS

Steve McHugh Thanks for the kind words, although book 7 is the last Hellequin, it's not the last Nate, and people like Mordred will be playing a large people in the stories going forward.

Will we be seeing other religions and pantheons as we go on? Is Thor an amazing elemental? And what happened to the Native Americans? Did Coyote die off?

Steve McHugh Yes is the short answer. Book 6 has two new pantheons.
