I love this question. Because there is a mystery from my past I want to write about, but it is VERY scary for me ... not sure how much to reveal, and how much to fictionalize. I originally thought about making it a memoir, but decided against it. Am working through the outline now. Writing it could be very healing ... or very painful. It won't be my next book, probably two or three books down the road, if I write it.

GOOD AS DEAD is about a woman who gets trapped in a lie and can't get out. I think that's the worst kind of prison .. because it's of your own making. How often is a lie worth it? Do you ever escape unscathed? I wanted to explore these questions, and in my ending you have my answer. ;)

Sometimes I'm not! And so I watch baseball or go for a bike ride. Not every day is a writing day. But when the impulse hits don't try to stop me, because I'm really crabby if I can't get my ideas down when they hit.

Take time to daydream. If you are intimidated to write a novel, write a conversation, or an imagining ... describe a place you love, or fear, or incites your curiosity. You don't have to know what you want to write to start writing, sometimes the words will show you where to go.
