I'm not entirely sure I can track down the exact point of the idea for my latest book, I Kill: Diary Of A Serial Killer, because I've had an interest in those types of folks for a while.
I guess seeing the letters of a few killers printed in newspapers, over time, could have had something to do with it. These letters usually show the inner workings of the maniacs concerned and I thought somewhere along the line, what if a serial killer kept a diary? Would that be interesting reading? It was certainly fun, in a dark way, writing it.

I deal with writer's block very poorly, by first of all going in a bad mood, sulking for a bit then putting on some music to inspire me. Dark, heavy music usually, as that's the tone I like to write. I play the Beatles or Alt-J for other, lighter moods.
