Get comfortable with rejection, feeling misunderstood, and sometimes feeling alone. Only those who truly are writers (and authors) understand the madness in what we do. Regardless, we write. Above all else, write if you find joy in doing so.

I rarely experience writer's block, at least not with The Stelladaur Series. Sometimes I know what a character must do but I have no idea how he or she will do it. That's when it can feel grueling simply to write a single page! It could take hours! But every time I push through and stay at the computer, something remarkable or unexpected happens in the story. It's almost like the characters are testing me, to see if I'll stay with them until the end.

The process of getting to know the characters well enough to write their story. Somewhere in the middle of my own imagination and listening to my characters, the story comes to life. It's invigorating! I also love the editing process. It's good to get rid of what you don't need and polish the gems worth keeping.

I walk or jog along the beach or in the forest. I listen. Observe. Absorb.

I'm currently writing the fourth book of The Stelladaur Series. The ideas for this book simply came as an extension of Reilly's continued quest to find Tir Na Nog and to be with the one he loves. However, I was inspired by an article about Stonehenge in an issue of the Smithsonian which was the catalyst for Fading Heart, the third book of the series.
