Don’t get too excited about publishing unless your stuff is completely polished. That’s a hard lesson I learned when I was younger. Hire an editor if you have to. If you think your story/novel is ready for publication I can 99.9% guarantee you it’s not. I’m not trying to discourage anybody, just sharing something I learned the hard way so you don’t have to.

I don’t get writer’s block. I read maybe four or five novels and/or short story collections a month. I think because of that I’m always inspired to jot something down. My biggest problem has always been disorganization. I write in fragments and then I try puzzling the fragments together to form a cohesive narrative. It’s pretty brutal and takes me years to compose something I feel is worth sharing, but that’s how I do it.

Having an excuse to read and write as much as I want — even though I’m a grown adult with responsibilities — and nobody calls me out on it. Nobody calls me crazy... well, that last part isn’t so true.

I think I would go to Oz and just chill with my flying monkey pals in that huge poppy field.

Imagine you have to live forever with your soul trapped in the body of a turritopsis dohrnii (“the immortal jellyfish”). Now imagine a meteor, roughly fifty miles in diameter, slamming into the ocean, lowering its pH, and rendering it acidic and uninhabitable for oceanic life — with the exception of you and your fellow jellyfish race.
