Heidi DuPree This is a two-sentence excerpt from the award-winning "Awaken Your Greater Health" that is the horror story that many are living today because they don't have the knowledge and tools to transform their suffering into blessings.

"As relationships break apart, jobs are lost, health deteriorates and violence grows, the population is becoming divided between those who are embracing these life events as catalysts for growth and increased consciousness and those in whom these changes have sparked intensifying fear and resistance. We all have a choice to become more willing, courageous, generous and loving; or to become more fearful, reactive, rigid and resistant.
Heidi DuPree If I could travel to any fictional book world, I would visit Jane Austen's 18th century England. I would love to explore the beautiful countryside, the incredible mansions and gardens and the shops in town. I would try on the exquisite dresses and dance at a ball with live music. But only for a vacation, and then I would want to return home! Life at that time was very limited for women, who couldn't own property or hold a job other than being a servant. It would be fun to experience that life briefly, but any longer would get boring! I love to draw, write, play the piano and do needlework - but I wouldn't want my life limited to only those activities!
Heidi DuPree I had summer reading lists when I was in school and summer meant being on break and having more time to read. I did just finish re-reading several of my favorite books and some new ones during the Mercury-Venus-Mercury retrograde from January to May 2017. Retrogrades are a perfect time for going back over things. But now that the energy is moving forward, my summer "list" is developing and launching an Energypathy Healing® program! However, I do have a book on my kindle that I would love to finish this summer - An Embarrassment of Mangoes by Ann Vanderhoof.
Heidi DuPree Life is full of mysteries to solve! Each day we are faced with mysteries such as - Why is this happening? What is causing it? What is mine to do to solve it? And we can solve these daily mysteries by paying close attention to the messages in our nighttime dreams, and to the synchronicities and serendipitous moments that happen and provide us with clues. In The Other Medicine That Really Works, I wrote about several mysterious situations in my life that were solved in this way. There are more such stories in Awaken Your Greater Health, along with details on how this process works. Life becomes magical when we awaken to the daily mysteries and tap into our intuition to solve them!
Heidi DuPree My advice to aspiring writers is to silence the inner critic. There will be plenty of time later to edit your writing. It's not the time to edit yourself AS you are writing! Let it flow and let it go. My second piece of advice is not to follow the advice of others! Certainly consider the advice of others, but ultimately follow your inner wisdom. We all have it. It's just that the inner critic can get so loud your inner wisdom gets drowned out. Do what brings you inner peace so you can hear the voice of your soul- meditate, take a walk, etc.
Heidi DuPree My favorite fictional couple is Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big, A.K.A. John James Preston --from the Sex in the City series and movies. Although this question was likely pertaining to a fictional couple from a book, not a movie! They are my favorite couple because some aspects of their relationship remind me of my relationship with my own Mr. Big, my husband. I cried when Mr. Big came to Paris to find Carrie and tell her she was "the one." They are also my favorite fictional couple because ironically the fictional Carrie Bradshaw is a non-fiction author-entrepreneur, like myself. I was inspired by how writing about her life experiences and her advice to others led to the creation of several books. In the first movie, as I watched Carrie proudly put her authored books on a shelf in her NYC apartment, I connected with my own dream of being an author. Years later, I thought of Carrie as I proudly put the books I authored on a shelf in my office.
Heidi DuPree The best thing about being a writer is having a vehicle to express deep levels of my being. Writing can be maddening and isolating...but then incredibly cathartic and integrative...all in the same day! There's nothing quite like having concepts that have been rolling around in my mind suddenly connect with experiences. Its like a lightening strike of inspiration. In those moments the gratitude of being a writer just bubbles over.
Heidi DuPree I am currently working on a companion meditation CD for my new book that will be coming out in early 2015: Awaken Your Greater Health: How Energy Medicine Opens the Way to Healing. I find inspiration for these meditations working with clients in my energy healing practice and meditating in the woods.
Heidi DuPree I deal with writer's block with deep breathing and meditation, and doing something physical that gets me out of my head. Often as soon as I step away from my laptop and go for a walk, the words that eluded me will be right there.
Heidi DuPree I got the idea shortly after publishing my first book. That publication sent me into a tailspin and revealed some of my limiting personal belief systems. I went on an adventure to find my answers. Answers came through the serendipitous and coincidental experiences I had with the people I am connected to and the circumstances I encountered. And these experiences formed the book, Awaken Your Greater Health.
Heidi DuPree The clients in my energy healing practice are my inspiration. When I see a commonality of issues, I research answers and then write about it to help others. Because I know for every person I see struggling with upheaval and feeling lost, there are so many more out there.
