My new book Solitude: How Doing Nothing Can Change the World was released just last week. I am currently working on spreading the word of its recent release and scheduling a few talks about the key topics of the book. Hopefully by the end of 2015 I will be able to share the news of a few new children's book series!

800,000 people die by suicide globally each year, 350,000,000 people are affected by depression, 7 people die by suicide per hour in the Americas and one in four adults will experience a mental health disorder in a given year. Mental illness is running rife; teen suicide rates are far too high; people are chronically unhappy; and, depression is just a part of life sitting nicely next to stress, anxiety, worry and fear.
I write to make people think. To plant seeds. To make people ask 'why'. To provoke discussion. To foster a change that is so desperately needed!

Why am I doing this?’ It took three months living in a hut in the forests of a Buddhist Monastery to give me a better idea of ‘why,' and now I am determined to spread these experiences where it is needed most – the fast paced modern world.” (hide spoiler)]
