K.B. Laugheed Hey, Nanci--it's so sweet of you to care, and I really appreciate your question. Here's the scoop: The Gift of the Seer should be available within the next two months! I'm hoping for a pre-Christmas release, and, yes--it will be available on Amazon and a few other sites, but I am also currently working on setting up an online store where you can buy it from me the minute it's available. That will be through my website at www.kblaugheed.com. I will also put out a general announcement here on Goodreads and in various other locations. I might even have a book giveaway!
But I must warn you that, as Mr. Spock once said on Star Trek, you may find that wanting a thing is not at all the same as having that thing. It's been very hard for me to put this book out because I'm afraid it will really blow some minds. So many people have told me how much The Spirit Keeper touched them. I'm afraid The Gift of the Seer is going to grab you, slap you, beat the crap out of you, and leave you lying in a weeping heap, which is why I've been so reluctant to put it out there into the world.
I feel almost as if I should apologize to each and every person who buys this book.
But y'all keep asking for it, so here it comes. At least now you've been warned.
K.B. Laugheed Hey, MA! Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I don't spend much time on the internet--I prefer to be outside.

To answer your question: Although Katie is a fictional character, her adventures are based on numerous accounts of true captivity stories that took place across North America for more than 200 years. Moreover, Katie's story is MY true (if metaphorical) story, in that when I was 17, I was captivated by stirring tales about the people who lived in North America before my ancestors showed up. I became obsessed with stories about Indian history, culture, beliefs, and oral literature, and these things changed me. The Spirit Keeper is the true story of my abiding love for the people who helped me understand my place in this world.

Oh, and I should mention that MA Koontz's debut novel, Shards of Trust, is a fast-paced, well-written suspense story, and all of you book-lovers out there should definitely snap up a copy. Once you start reading this compelling story, you will not be able to put it down!
K.B. Laugheed Yes, Christine, The Gift of the Seer is coming--but it's a long process! I will first be releasing an entirely different book entitled To the Future Crystal, but The Gift of the Seer will come out soon after that. I'm glad you're still looking forward to it! Hopefully you will enjoy TFC while you're waiting.
Oh, and my freezer is full of tomato sauce, which I get to enjoy regularly! Right now my windowsill is also filled with tomato seedlings, which will one day contribute to a whole new batch of sauce. The cycle of Nature never ends . . .
K.B. Laugheed I have no interest at all in any sort of fictional world. The world I live in, multi-dimensional as it is, is infinite and endlessly fascinating. I watch the ant-wars on my sidewalk, the bird arguments in the bushes, the mosquito larva writhing in a shrinking puddle, the morning flowers sparkling with dew. I am surrounded by worlds--real worlds--and they are more than enough for me.
K.B. Laugheed I am working hard on getting THE GIFT OF THE SEER published. I am also making tomato sauce.
