Vicar Sayeedi My new novel, The Shariah Parliament is a very special and important work for me.

I'm deeply troubled by the stereotyping and collective accountability we see in the world today towards Muslims but also towards many others.

I genuinely believe in the power of literature to reach the hearts and minds of tens of millions of curious, good people around the world and give them at least the chance to see things from a different perspective. I think we change the world for the better, one book at a time.
Vicar Sayeedi Once a story has been circulating in my mind for a while and the timing feels write, I just do it. Intellectually, I'm trained as a critical thinker, I'm a very curious person. Professionally, I'm very disciplined so I can consistently write about 10,000 words [clean, edited] per month. At this pace, I complete my books in about 2000 hours.

The old saying is true - 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. :-)
Vicar Sayeedi My most recent novel, "The Shariah Parliament - Renaissance & Sacred Law" was conceived as a trilogy. I'm currently thinking through Book 2 as well as Book 3.
Vicar Sayeedi Although I've heard of others struggling with "Writer's Block", I'm fortunate in that I've never personally experienced this problem.

I let the idea for a story simmer in my conscience for a long time - months or even longer - before I begin writing. Thus, the story is quite well informed before I begin the writing process.

Once I begin writing, it's all about details and character development, and at least with my most recent novel, The Shariah Parliament, the story just flowed. Writing this novel was a tremendously exciting experience.
Vicar Sayeedi Have a lot of patience. It's possible but unlikely that the first think you write will be successful. Try to write about things that are really important to a lot of people. The world needs solutions and writers can fill this void.
Vicar Sayeedi The opportunity to reach a potentially large audience with thoughts and ideas that can change the world
