I write because it's an amazing way to touch the lives of my readers and show them that there are countless touching stories out there. I also find myself having a more positive mindset by writing such stories. My ultimate goal by being a writer is to change as many lives as possible for the better :)

One book that I recently wrote is "The Corridor of Uncertainty." It's a true story about how the Afghan cricket team is bringing peace to the entire country of Afghanistan. It's an incredibly inspiring narrative that addresses the violence, politics, and challenges the team members overcame in their quest for bringing the country together. Happy (almost) Diwali!

Sitting down and actually writing is probably the hardest part for me (ironic, I know...haha!), but I get inspired to write by just thinking about how AWESOME my book will be once it's completed. I also find that I'm most motivated to write when I have woken up fresh in the mornings. So, I get up at 5:30am and the first thing I do is write. I've realized that it's extremely important to take advantage of the inspiration to write whenever you have it!

Without a doubt, the best thing about being a writer is the fact that I get the opportunity to change my life and the lives of others around me. I impact my own life because I always must think creatively about the topics that I write. Simultaneously, I influence the lives of those around me because I challenge their thoughts and release positive bursts of energy through my inspirational stories. Being able to have this power as a writer is simply humbling and amazing!

I deal with writer's block by taking a quick break - sometimes listening to music, watching a random video, or even going on a walk to get some fresh air all of a sudden gives me inspiration when I am stuck...and if I don't end up moving past the writer's block, then at the end of the day, at least I had a good distraction! Might as well have fun on the journey :)

I got the idea for my most recent book, "The Corridor of Uncertainty," while I was on holiday with my family. We went to Australia, where cricket is of course an extremely popular sport. One morning, while I was looking at a local newspaper, I saw a very short article about the Afghan cricket team. My first question was, "Afghanistan has a cricket team!?" It piqued my interest.
After my family came back from holiday, I researched the team and found that they had an incredibly inspiring story. I love inspiring stories, and I knew the team's story would make a good book. That's where it all began!

My advice is to find a way to stay motivated, and of course to never give up! I've easily had hundreds of writers come to me and ask me advice on writing books. Majority of them lose motivation or just stop writing their books halfway through the process. It's hard to stay enthusiastic, especially in the very beginning, when you have nobody pushing you forward. Just stay positive, and remember to finish what you started.
