Cea Sunrise Person Thank you! The film is Canadian, so it is not involved in the strike. I hope you enjoy it! :)
Cea Sunrise Person Hi there! I'd love to share it with you, but since my father's real name has been protected in my books, I'm unable to reveal it. But thank you for taking the time to read my work!
Cea Sunrise Person Stick with it and don't give up! But it's also very important to accept critical feedback and use it to improve your work...don't just keep resubmitting the same thing again and again. If you're being rejected ask agents why, take writing courses, get feedback from other published writers and rewrite and rewrite until you get it right! Also for books, make sure your query letter is perfect--expect to spend a good deal of time on it.
Cea Sunrise Person Thank you so much! I think I'm like most mothers...I get very frustrated with how reliant we have all become on screens, and I worry about the fate of this generation we are raising this way. Even though I wouldn't want to raise my kids anywhere near the way I was raised, I do sometimes feel nostalgic for that simpler time and wish my kids could experience it in a more healthy way than I did. I try to keep my kids focussed on other things and remind them of what's important--but it's really hard when it's just EVERYWHERE!
Cea Sunrise Person What a great question! I think the big mystery in my life has been my family's mental illness--why it's so prevalent, and what caused it. I don't think it would make a good plot though, because I tried to solve it in my second memoir and couldn't! But there are certainly some fictitious directions I could take with it!
Cea Sunrise Person Yes indeed! Nearly Normal just came out, a follow--up to my first. I hope you enjoy it!
Cea Sunrise Person My new book, which came out yesterday, is a follow-up to my first memoir. It will tell you a lot more about my crazy life!
Cea Sunrise Person I am always inspired to write--it is my creative outlet, and if I'm not doing I am just not nearly as happy ;)
Cea Sunrise Person I just finished writing my first novel, a domestic noir suspense. My agent is about to read it, so here's hoping she likes it! I'd love to make the transition to fiction!
Cea Sunrise Person Just do it! Seriously--so many beginning writers, including myself, think they have to have the perfect, profound idea or thought to start putting it down on paper. The truth is it takes soooo much practice to become a great writer, so start NOW! Take a creative writing course--I never did but wish I had. And don't wait till the house is clean, the kids are at school, your life is more settled. Just do it!
Cea Sunrise Person Being able to work from home or anywhere at all, being on my own schedule so I can be with my family, and hearing from my readers :)
Cea Sunrise Person I usually just try to skip to another part in the story if I'm not feeling the love with something I'm writing. However, now that I'm moving to fiction, I've realized that's a lot easier with nonfiction than with fiction! Also, I just spend a lot of time staring into space, trying to figure things out. Really.
Cea Sunrise Person I really loved the dysfunctional couple in Wally Lamb's I Know This Much Is True. I read it maybe 15 years ago and remember thinking that the girl in the relationship reminded me of myself. Wonder if I'd think the same thing if I read it now!
